Camper Profiles: Mike Caron, Mike Davi and Dave Popik
We have a triple scoop of profiles in this edition of the Running eNews.

Mike Caron joined us for the first time last summer but already feels like one of the family. You've got to read about his 2010 fall racing schedule. His energy and passion for running is infectious. Full story.

Mike Davi is a Richmond, VA camper who coaches several athletes in addition to managing his own training. He shares his story of 2010 injury, recovery, and eventual PR at the California International Marathon last December (plus recent success in Boston). Great story to read and remember when one is dealing with a layoff. Full article.

Dave Popik started life as a middle distance runner, but after his first marathon at age 30 he's completed another 15! Check out the former state trooper's full profile here.

Introducing Run2Scull, Scull2Run
Are you a runner who is intrigued by rowing and wants to learn how to scull? Our newest camp allows you to use both your running shoes and your oars for some serious cross-training that will take both disciplines to new levels. Row in the mornings, run in the afternoons, while enjoying the great Craftsbury atmosphere all week! Read full details.

Nordic Skiing Cross Training
Coach Jennings paid a winter visit to the home office this past January for a weekend of skiing, snowshoeing and general wintry fun in the woods. Read all about her trip. We hope to offer a program similar to Lynn's trip this coming winter, so stay tuned!

Spring Racing News
After months of enduring endless snow, icy winds and minimal daylight hours, Craftsbury campers are dusting off their racing shoes and entering the spring racing scene. Get the scoop from Boston and Big Sur, plus coverage of New York City's only in-town trail race. We also have an end of season report from 2010 with great Sacramento coverage.

Camp Purchase
We're never idle very long around Craftsbury. One of the newest projects the parent foundation of the Center has undertaken is the purchase of the neighboring Windridge Tennis Camp facility. The 55-acre facility is contiguous with the property of the Outdoor Center and includes 3000 feet of beautiful waterfront. Find out more about the new camp and its programs here or check its home website.

That's the news as we enjoy (a somewhat damp) springtime here at Craftsbury. We always welcome your news, suggestions or comments at runningnews@craftsbury.com and we'll do our best to spread the word in the next newsletter.

Sincerely,

Sheldon Miller
