Mountain Biking

Over the years many of our guests have discovered the joy and beauty of bicycling at The Craftsbury Outdoor Center. Whether you seldom ride or try to make it a regular part of your life, you'll find a wide variety of terrain and route options right from your door. The quiet roads and beautiful scenery make for wonderful riding.

While most people choose a well-mapped, self-guided trip on the local back roads, more challenging off-road trails are right here too. We have some technical single track and double wide grassy ski trails right on site - check out the current map. The area is a favorite with road riders too. Little traffic and great views make for some of the best road riding around.

Canoeing and Kayaking

With over two miles of lake, you can see why not all of our guests choose to enjoy Big Hosmer facing backward! Our fleet of canoes and kayaks let one fish, watch wildlife, explore the shorelines or just relax on the calm, clear water. Whatever your aim, we have a boat to carry you and your family or friends through the quiet - and they're free for houseguest use.

Disc Golf:

The Center's six-basket, eighteen-tee disc golf course is now open for the season. This scenic course starts and finishes near the Ski Touring Center and traverses a combination of open field, trail and wooded fairways. Holes range from 100 to 400 feet. Anyone can learn the basics quickly and enjoy the good exercise and fun the sport offers.

Disc Golf Course use is for members and house guests. You can find details about annual membership here. While annual membership is a very good value (entitling members to trail uses year round including cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, mountain biking, walking, and access to member-specific programming), day memberships are available for students and seniors at $5 and adults at $10.
